Building AI tools that help cities make better, data-driven design choices for infrastructure megaprojects.
Worked under the inimitable Rish Joshi! As a software engineer at Nitra for the summer of 2023, I worked in a team of just 3 engineers on an Amazon-like marketplace for medical products - a brand new product for the company. During my summer, we launched the damn thing, and I implemented refund, coupon, and discount functionality in the web app, as well as creating scripts to handle the intake of hundreds of thousands of products from suppliers. Throughout the summer, I grabbed coffee with every single person in the company, and I left proud of what our tiny-but-mighty team had built, feeling more honed in my engineering abilities under Rish's tutelage, and grateful to have met such a stellar crew!
As a website sales specialist at Topline Pro, I got to connect with more than 100 home service professionals (landscapers, pressure washers, etc.) across the country, building and deploying websites for 16 businesses using our GPT-3 driven framework. The team was killer, and the chance to talk to a huge variety of small-business owners and hear about their experiences growing their brands locally was once-in-a-lifetime.
As Maysoon's on-campus chief of staff, I helped her build a cohort of disabled students and faculty members to assess the accessibility of Princeton's campus and programs and push for change accordingly. I've also had the absolute privilege of sitting in on every class she's taught on Princeton's campus, including The Art of Standup. We've had a ton of fun along the way.
My experience at Baker fundamentally changed the way I see service and the landscape for returning citizens today, and solidified my goal of using technology to assist folks in jail, prison, and on parole or probation.
This was my first experience in the incarceration activism space. The activists I connected with through the CBF taught me what they do, and the stories I heard from previously incarcerated folks at their events taught me why they do it. My work with them culminated in the production of two videos, both shot at a protest we held outside of York Correctional Institution, the only women's prison in Connecticut.
Worked under the legendary David Perry! I first joined Carro in the summer of 2017 as the only on-site technical team member in the seed-stage startup, and I spent my summer building a process for data-driven completion of incomplete customer profiles. I returned in the summers of 2018 and 2019, during which time I automated our internal processes for data visualization. The team was the perfect combination of brilliant and willing-to-go-get-Thai-teas-with-boba-every-Friday-for-lunch. I could not have had a better experience.
Research
Advised by the wise Dr. Zachary Kincaid! Liar's Dice is my favorite game, so spring of my junior year, I created a headless Liar's Dice simulator and simulated over 2 million games, using a Q-learning approach to identify the optimal strategy for a player with 2 or less dice remaining. I figured out how to dominate my friends, and wrote my first academic research paper as a bonus!
Worked alongside the unstoppable Tobi Ayeni! Tobi and I began this project in the spring of 2022 after learning 98% of corporate funds earmarked for donation matching go unused every year. In building the MVP of the platform, we had the opportunity to draw from the expertise of the employee engagement teams at The Walt Disney Company and Google, as well as the fundraising teams of City Harvest, The ACLU, and Planned Parenthood.
After releasing three games to the Apple App Store as a middle schooler, I was invited to Lunch with Luminaries at the E3 Gaming Conference in Los Angeles, where I had the chance to ask the biggest players in the gaming industry about their journey and hopes for the field (see my feature in the Los Angeles Times).
Leadership & Service
Worked with the incredible Een Jabriel! I discovered Petey Greene my sophomore year after spending the summer working with incarcerated folks and wanting to continue this work on campus. The work they do, which spans the complete facilitation of student prep and travel to prisons for tutoring sessions, is a game changer in helping incarcerated individuals get their GEDs and get back on their feet post-release.
Co-directed alongside the brilliant Rohan Jinturkar! I had the joy of going on this trip the winter of my sophomore year, and it was the single most incredible experience I'd had at Princeton. Directed my junior year as a way of bringing that joy to 21 more students!
All Nighter is SNL meets Jimmy Fallon, and it's been running 10 years now! As this year's host, I got to sing, dance, act, monologue, and do whatever nonsense necessary to get a laugh, all with the best cast of comedy writers Princeton's ever seen.
My cohort teammates and I went on ride-alongs for deliveries in the community, and worked on an automated system to notify families in need when food was on the way. Enabling the nonprofit to better execute on their mission through technology was incredibly rewarding work, and the cohort of students was kickass.
